ELMED Dr. Ing. Mense GmbH considers the protection of your personal data to be a very serious matter. We would like to assure you that your personal data will be handled in confidence and in accordance with the provisions governing data protection as well as this data privacy statement.

In general, you can use our online services without disclosing your identity. If personal data is collected (for example name, address or e-mail address) this only occurs with the prior consent of the user of the website for the purpose of replying to your inquiry. The processing of personal data is required for the performance of a contract or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract (Article 6 (1b) GDPR). We only store your data for as long as our business connection requires it. Your data is not automatically collected.

We will not transmit your data to third parties without your expressed consent.

We would like to expressly point out that the transmission of data via the internet (e. g. by e-mail) can offer security vulnerabilities. It is therefore impossible to safeguard the data completely against access by third parties.

ELMED Dr. Ing. Mense GmbH has taken technical and organisational measures to ensure that both we as well as commissioned external service providers comply with the provisions governing data protection.

Processing of data

For single tasks we use, within the limits of customer orders, the services of order processors (Art. 31 GDPR). The terms and conditions for carrying out data processing on behalf must be set out in a written contract in which the service provider agrees on particular privacy and discretion.


Log files, session cookies, security software & CDN

We respectively our webhosting provider collect and record technical data (anonymized IP address, access time, http request information, browser type and version, referrer URL) using so called log files which we may use for administrative and analytical purposes. We do not use it for associating it with any individual user and your data will not be shared with third parties. After 60 days the relevant data will be routinely deleted by our webhosting provider.

For technical reasons our website uses so-called session cookies, but only for the purpose of operational functioning and presentation of the site. Cookies are not used to store your personal information.

For the protection and improvement of data communication we use the website security solutions of SiteLock, 8701 East Hartford Drive, Suite 200, Scottsdale, AZ 85255, USA, which safeguards our website against viruses and malware. In addition, SiteLock includes a combined firewall and CDN system (content delivery network), which increase our website speed through its network of global data centers. Accessing our website means therefore the testing by firewall/CDN and storage of data (anonymized IP address, access time, http request information, browser type and version, referrer URL) for the purpose of malware defense and fast data transmission. We do not use it for associating it with any individual user and your data will not be shared with third parties. After 90 days the relevant data will be routinely deleted by SiteLock. When you make an inquiry via contact form, we process the personal data that you provide voluntarily for the purpose of processing your inquiry. We do not transmit them without your consent.


Use of YouTube

Our website offers product videos which are provided by the operating company YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. As most websites YouTube uses cookies to collect data about the visitors of their web page. These cookies help YouTube to record video statistics, to avoid fraud and to improve user-friendliness. The use of YouTube is linked with Google DoubleClick. If you watch a video on YouTube this may activate further data processing operations. We do not have any influence on that. Use of Google Maps

This site uses the Google Maps map service for some functions. It is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. To use Google Maps, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. ELMED Dr. Ing. Mense GmbH has no influence on this data transfer. The use of Google Maps is in the interest of making our website appealing and to facilitate the location of places specified by us on the website. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Right of access, deletion, blocking

You have the right to demand information at any time on data that has been saved about you personally as well as to know where the data originated, who has received it and the purposes for storing it. You also have the right of rectification, blocking or delation of this data.

If you have any questions concerning our data protection or the voluntarily transmitted data you can contact our data protection officer via the address specified above under "data protection" at any time.


Storage period

As legislation has defined numerous data retention periods customer data is kept secure for the duration of our business relationship, including conclusion and full compensation of the agreed renumeration. Once the legal reason has expired the data will immediately be deleted.

The retention period shall be determined in accordance with the the statutory limitation periods. According to sections 195 et seqq. of the German Civil Code (BGB), it is for example generally three years, but in certain cases it may be up to thirty years. By the way, your personal data is deleted providing you have not expressly consented to further use and processing.


Your data protection rights

GDPR Article 15 gives you the right to obtain information, GDPR Article 16 gives you the right to correct that information, GDPR Article 17 gives you the right to have data deleted, GDPR Article 18 gives you the right to restricted processing and GDPR Article 20 gives you the right to the portability of data. GDPR Article 21 essentially gives you the right to object to our processing of your personal data. As far as the right to obtain information and the right to delete are concerned, the restrictions pursuant to Secs. 34 and 35 Federal Data Protection Act are applicable. Moreover, there is a right to appeal to a competent data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR in conjunction with Sec. 19 Federal Data Protection Act).


Objection non-requested advertisement

The usage of the contact data published within the framework of the imprint regulations by third parties to send non-requested advertisement and information material is strictly prohibited. The operators of these sites expressly reserve the right to pursue legal steps in case of the non-requested sending of advertising information such as spam mails.
