Holiday detection of very large pipe diameters with spring electrodes

High-voltage holiday testing of pipes with diameters of DN 1200 and above presents particular challenges for the testing equipment. The larger the spiral electrode and the higher the required test voltage, the greater the electrical load on the electrode. Under certain conditions, this load can become so high that the required test voltage can no longer be achieved at the spring/spiral electrode.

Holiday detection of very large pipe diameters with spring electrodes

With our new ISOTEST® inspect pro, we have now demonstrated in extensive tests that sufficiently high test voltages can also be generated with very large spring electrodes. The result: Up to 25 kV test voltage at a spiral electrode for pipes up to DN 2200.

The ISOTEST® inspect pro therefore opens up new possibilities for reliable high-voltage holiday testing, even with extremely large pipe diameters. Particularly in applications requiring high test voltages, it is not only the nominal voltage of the testing device that matters. What is crucial is the voltage that is actually available at the spring electrode under the actual electrical load.

Our tests have shown that the ISOTEST® inspect pro can handle even the largest spring electrodes.

Large diameters. High test voltages. Reliable testing.
The ISOTEST® inspect pro therefore provides a powerful solution for high-voltage holiday testing of large-diameter pipes – including applications where the size of the spring electrode presents particular challenges for the testing equipment.
